Week 2 Overview

Module Two: Digital Citizenship Guidelines for Your Classroom

In this module participants will explore the ISTE standards for teachers and students. The guidelines learned in this unit will help teachers establish digital citizenship guidelines for themselves, their classroom, and help to guide students towards having good digital citizenship.  Participants will create a poster establishing the digital citizenship guidelines for their classroom. Possible student projects: S'more (online poster creator), Google Drawing, Microsoft Word, Google Slides, PowerPoint or another poster making tool.

Suggested Schedule:

  • Early in the Week
    • Read the ISTE digital citizenship standards for teachers and students.
    • Participate in this week's discussion.
  • Mid-Week
    • Watch the tutorials for creating a digital poster if you'd like to learn a new tool.
    • Decide what the standards for your classroom should be. Keep it simple, between 4-6 should be plenty.
  • End of the Week
    • Submit your poster by submitting a URL to the poster or uploading the file.
    • Comment/Reply to two other educator's discussion responses.
